What’s inside
Everything an inbox should do. Nothing it shouldn’t.
Sorted before you look
Primary, Promotions, Social and Updates tabs, threaded conversations, labels, and rules that sort, label, archive or auto-reply the moment mail arrives.
Tracking pixels stripped
Invisible trackers are removed before a message reaches you, and privacy mode blocks remote images entirely, so senders can’t tell when you read.
Aliases and signatures
Give out an alias instead of your real address, keep a signature per identity, and answer the usual questions with saved replies.
Undo send and follow-ups
Pull a message back seconds after sending it, and set a follow-up reminder on any thread you can’t afford to forget.
PGP signing
Sign outgoing mail with your own PGP key and verify signatures from contacts whose public keys you keep.
Works with any mail app
Use the web app, the native Android app with instant push, or Outlook, Apple Mail and Thunderbird over IMAP, POP3 and SMTP.
Why Pabbel
Why leave free webmail behind?
Free webmail is usually paid for with your attention: the inbox doubles as an ad surface, and what you write becomes signal. Pabbel Mail is paid for by the people who use it, so there is nothing to gain from reading your mail. The mail engine is our own code on PostgreSQL, on servers we operate - no outsourced mail host in the middle, and every connection encrypted with TLS.
Questions
Asked and answered.
- Is Pabbel Mail really free?
- Yes. A free account includes a Pabbel address and 10 GB of storage shared with Drive, with no ads and no card required. Paid plans add storage and a custom domain, starting at €4.99 a month.
- Can I use my own domain name?
- Yes. Plus and every plan above it include a custom domain for Mail, so you can send and receive as you@yourdomain, with outgoing mail signed by DKIM.
- Does it work with Outlook, Apple Mail or Thunderbird?
- Yes. Pabbel Mail speaks standard IMAP and POP3 for reading and authenticated SMTP for sending, so any mail app works alongside the web and Android apps.
- Do you read my email or show ads?
- No. There are no ads, so there is nothing to target. Mail is processed automatically only to deliver it, filter spam and sort it into tabs - it is never sold, rented or shared with advertisers.
- Is there a mobile app?
- Yes, a native Android app with push notifications and an offline-ready inbox, in testing on Google Play - anyone can join from the Apps page. On iPhone, use the web app or add your account to the iOS Mail app over IMAP.
- Can I take my mail with me if I leave?
- Yes. You can export your mail at any time, and IMAP access means any client can copy your folders out. No lock-in and no exit fees.
